In Iwo, Osun State, Nigeria, Prophet Samson Oluwamodede was born into a Muslim family called the Ogunmodede. He attended Ilupeju Grammar School in Iwo for his elementary schooling.
In his interactions with Christian groups, the priest admitted that he seldom closes his eyes during prayer sessions to see whether the Pastor is doing anything other than praying.

At 1987, he surrendered his life to Christ and was baptized in Christ Apostolic Church (C.A.C) Oke-Igbala, Akure, Ondo State, Nigeria.

During a 3-day Marathon Fasting and Prayers at the Church, Prophet Samson Oluwamodede had a spiritual contact. On that magnificent day, he had a vision, which he described as follows:
“I saw that the top of the Church building had vanished and that the sun was shining again that night; afterwards, I saw a white guy…
The hand I saw went directly into my mouth, followed by a voice saying, “What I gave to Peter and John, I have given to you.”
The image vanished instantly, and he awoke unexpectedly. This spiritual encounter gave the Prophet a sense that God was doing something in his life.

Prior to his conversion from Islam to Christianity, Prophet/Evang. Samson Oluwamodede studied Quran for seven years at Answarudeen Primary School before becoming a butcher for another seven years. He also worked as a newspaper seller, a pump attendant, and a civil servant. Unlike his Muslim days, when he had to attend Quranic school to learn about the religion.

However, when he began his ministerial activity, he had never studied any man of God nor had he attended any Bible school for discipleship before commencing his ministry. The Holy Spirit gives the Man of God heavenly inspirations and clear instructions to minister or deal with both spiritual and canal difficulties.
His Christian journey, however, began with two wonderful men of God, Pastor Alonge and Salami Adeoye, both of whom serve at the Christ Apostolic Church (C.A.C).
Prophet Samson Oluwamodede is the current General Overseer of the Prayer Centre Church of God, which has its headquarters at Km. 7, Adofure, Idanre Road, Akure, Ondo State. He is enthusiastic about removing Satan’s shackles from people’s life and bringing them into liberty in Christ Jesus.
