Biography Of Rachael Umahi – Age , Children – Some perceive the art of giving to the poor and needy as being only designated for the customary end-of-year CHRISTMAS PERIOD, where we witness celebrities and some huge multinational paying courtesy call to orphanage homes and contributing to the disadvantaged in our midst.
In our typical approach, CERUTTI CHARITY UNIT, in partnership with WORLD INDUSTRY LEADERS, shares the narrative of Chief Mrs. Rachel Umahi-a tireless donor, and wife of Ebonyi State Governor, Engr David UmAHI.
The charitable woman was born on March 23, 1972, in Kumba, Cameroon, to Mr. and Mrs. Chukwu and Eunice Akpa (of Umuobuna, Uburu).
Between 1979 through 1985, she attended Umuobuna/Uhuaba Community Primary School in Uburu, where she earned her First School Leaving Certificate.
She then attended Immaculate Girls Secondary School in Aba, where she graduated in 1991 with her West African School Certificate (WASC).
She then attended Rivers State University of Science and Technology (RSUST) in Port Harcourt, where she earned a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in 2007.
She worked in human and resource management in the business sector after graduating before marrying the Deputy Governor of Ebonyi State between 2011 and 2015.
Following the successful election and inauguration of her husband, Engr. Chief David Umahi, as Governor of Ebonyi State, Chief Mrs. Rachel Umahi participated in countless humanitarian and welfare services to the poor, giving succor and upliftment to diverse families across the state.
This she accomplished through her non-profit organization, the “FAMILY SUCCOR AND UPLIFTMENT PROGRAMME.”
Her Excellency sponsors several social development programs for Ebonyi women and children through this platform, notably in the areas of primary healthcare and welfare.
To emphasize her commitment to improving the socioeconomic status of Ebonyi women and children, she embarked on advocacy visits to several agencies and organizations, including the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), United Nations Women, World Health Organization, Society for Family Health, and others, barely two weeks after her husband’s inauguration as Governor.
Chief Mrs. Umahi has distinguished herself not just by hard labor and devotion to excellence in all endeavors, but she is also a fervent Christian and one in a million compassionate mothers.
Her marriage has produced seven children. She likes to read and travel.
