Gaise Baba Akinade Ibuoye, Born on 5th August known as “Gaise Baba” is a Nigerian Afro-fusion Artiste who sings in his native tongue Yoruba, English, and the Nigerian version of English Called pidgin English, sometimes merging all three languages inside his songs.
He has a BSc in Economics from Obafemi Awolowo University and a certification in Music Business from Berklee College of Music. Gaise Baba is the originator of several platforms that benefit his immediate community and the nation as a whole, in addition to creating, recording, and performing music.
He developed the LightOut movement, which uses music and art as vehicles for social impact, adolescent activism, and youth mentorship in high schools.
Gaise Baba heads The LightOut Collective, a group of musicians, dancers, poets, and other creatives who tour high schools and universities around the country as part of the LightOut movement. Since its debut in November 2017, the movement has had 14 events and touched over 15,000 adolescent and pre-adolescent pupils.
He also founded ARAMANDA, a music event that celebrates urban Christian themes given in an African yet contemporary approach. ARAMANDA engages with young, sociable, technologically aware, and stylish Africans who enjoy music and want to hear alternative Christian sounds. The festival launched in July 2019 at Covenant Christian Centre, directly next to the National Theatre Lagos, and its second edition, ARAMANDA – The Elevation, will take place in March 2020 in collaboration with The Elevation Church Lekki.
Gaise Baba’s debut album as a recording artist was released in August 2011 under Sanctified Records, exposing him to the music business as a conscious artiste with a particular manner of delivery that crosses generations. The album’s main hit, ‘follow follow,’ was nominated for Best Indigenous Concept at the Nigerian Music Video Awards in 2011 and the Africa Entertainment Awards in 2012. Gaise Baba won ‘New Revelation’ at The Scepters in 2011 and ‘Best New Artiste’ at the first Crystal Awards in 2013.
Gaise Baba was signed to ID Cabasa’s record label, Coded Tunes, in 2015, giving him the opportunity to collaborate with one of Nigeria’s top producers since the turn of the millennium. Since his first album, he has released eleven (11) singles. Logo (The EP), a critically acclaimed five (5) track record, was published in September 2020. His sophomore album, A Decade After, is set to be released in the fourth quarter of 2021.

As a Culture Architect and Creative Entrepreneur, he was the youngest of fourteen (14) famous musicians awarded as Cultural Ambassadors by the Ekiti State Government of Nigeria in October 2013. Gaise Baba traverses the country and beyond as Ekiti State’s cultural ambassador, giving spectacular musical performances and establishing a groundbreaking movement around his art and message.

Gaise Baba founded Lounge464, a music and discussion venue that delivers live, rustic, African music in a comfortable setting, in December 2020. Lounge464 is a high-engagement relaxing zone with a relatable stage and a community-type audience, where Gaise Baba communicates his genuine essence with his increasing network, free of the pressure of a large event or festival.
It is held monthly in Lagos and on a limited basis in other locations in Nigeria and abroad. The experience is also livestreamed, so it can be viewed in real time from anywhere in the globe.
