Biography Of The Kalmoni Family (Net Worth , History) – Prior to the First World War, Salem Kalmoni, the present Managing Director of Japan Motors Ghana, arrived in Ghana from Lebanon to begin some commercial activities. Kalmoni & Sons quickly expanded into truck boards, and in 1958 he imported the first Japanese automobile, a Datsun, a brand name that was eventually renamed to the world-famous Nissan.

In 1965, Kalmoni & Sons was renamed Japan Motors. It now has five branches in Ghana and employs over 330 people.

Jalal Kalmoni, Salem Kalmoni, and their cousin, Nouhad Kalmoni, are the heirs of the Kalmoni wealth and own Japan Motors and Silver Star Auto. In Ghana, Modern Auto Services also has the franchise for SsangYong, Lifan, and Foton heavy duty vehicles.
Oman Fofor Trading Company Ltd is also the exclusive authorized distributor of Canon Products in the Sultanate of Oman. It is Ghana’s leading retailer of photocopiers.

Advance Construction is a Lakeside Estate-based construction firm that operates a block factory.
Between 2001 and 2011, Lakeside Real Estate Company developed around 700 properties in Ghana for the middle and higher classes.
