Mercy Chinwo was born on September 5, 1990. She is the first of six children and the first daughter. Mercy Chinwo is a gospel artist, actor, and composer from Nigeria. She was born in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
Mercy Chinwo began her singing career at a young age. She began singing in her church’s children’s choir and then moved on to the adult choir. Mercy Chinwo was raised by her mother after her father died while she was a child.
Mercy Chinwo dabbled in acting before devoting herself entirely to music. She rose to prominence in 2012 after winning Season 2 of Nigerian Idol, a famous talent competition. In 2013, she received her first film role in “House of Gold,” directed by Yvonne Nelson.
