Biography Of Bashir Machina – Age , Wife – Bashir Sheriff Machina has been confirmed as the genuine All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Yobe North Senatorial District by the Court of Appeal in Abuja.

The court confirmed the decision of the Federal High Court in Damaturu, Yobe State, that the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, is not the APC candidate for Yobe North Senatorial District in next year’s election to the National Assembly.

The court ruled that Mr Lawan did not take part in the APC’s constitutionally recognized primary poll to choose its candidate for the election on May 28, 2022.

In ruling on the President of the Senate’s appeal, a three-judge panel of the appellate court led by justice Monica Dongban-Mensem ruled that the party’s primary election on June 9th was unconstitutional because it violated the constitution.

Although the legislation requires the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to oversee party primaries, the primaries on June 9th were not monitored by the electoral commission.

The APC filed an appeal with the appellate court, preferring candidate Ahmed Lawan but failing to make him a co-appellant.

Mr Lawan appeared as the second respondent in the lawsuit, suggesting that he and the APC were working against each other while attempting to achieve a goal.

The appeal is meritless since it fails in its totality.

The appellant (APC) must pay N1 million in costs to the first respondent (Bashir Sheriff).
