Young, energetic, and passionate Dr. Michael Arumemi Ikhide has been the Chief Executive Officer of Nigeria’s Arik Air Limited since December 21, 2009.
Dr Michael Arumemi-Ikhide assisted his father Joseph Arumemi-Ikhide (the airline’s founder) in establishing Arik International (based in London, UK) in April 2007 and served as its Chief Executive Officer. As a result of his dual responsibilities, Dr Michael Arumemi-Ikhide will serve as Group Chief Executive Officer of both Arik Air Ltd (Nigeria) and Arik International.
Dr. Michael Arumemi-Ikhide is a highly educated, hardworking, and energetic professional who has made important contributions to the airline’s progress from its inception to its current reality. He has also been in charge of creating, launching, and expanding Arik Air’s foreign arm, as well as overseeing our successful worldwide growth.
He joined Arik as a founding board member in 2006 and served as Executive Director Corporate Strategy, which has several operational tasks in the portfolio.
Dr Michael Arumemi-Ikhide is a founding board director of Arik Air, as well as a member of the Board of Airline Representatives (BAR) UK and the Aviation Club UK.
Dr. Michael Arumemi-Ikhide holds a Doctorate degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Edinburgh in the United Kingdom, as well as an MBA from Imperial College Business School at Imperial College London in the United Kingdom.
