Biography of Minister Dunsin Oyekan (Age , Wife)

Dunsin Oyekan was born on November 5, 1984 in Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria. He grew raised in Ilorin as the sole son of his parents. His father, Pastor Gbadebo Oyekan, was a pioneer of the Pentecostal movement in Nigeria and the founder of “Spiritual Singers,” an Ilorin-based singing group dedicated to encountering God through worship. His father, Pastor Gbadebo Oyekan, was the General Overseer of the Evangelical Baptist Church and had a significant effect on Minister Dunsin Oyekan’s musical tastes, songwriting, and instrument playing. In truth, he wished for him to pursue music at university, but this was not possible.

Dunsin Oyekan went to the Airforce Nursery and Primary School in Ilorin before attending the famous Federal Government College (FGC) in Ilorin. He finished his secondary school at Ilorin’s Baptist Model High School. He eventually enrolled at the University of Ilorin, Ilorin, and graduated as an Industrial Chemist. God totally called him into the worship ministry in 2014.

He has numerous outlets via which he spreads the Gospel. He is the organizer of the yearly Healing Room Worship Event, the Code Red Worship Concert/Experience, the Victory Tour, the Outpouring, and many more musical concerts. On February 2, 2013, Dunsin Oyekan married Adedoyin, a classmate at the University of Ilorin. The couple has produced two gorgeous children. Unfortunately, Adedoyin Oyekan died on Saturday, May 18, 2019. Dunsin Oyekan has faced this adversity in good faith, believing in God for a better future.

Dunsin is a Nigerian worshipper who dedicates his talent to God. He started playing the guitar at the age of ten, and his desire is to glorify Jesus and bring others closer to Him via music. For nearly two decades, Dunsin has written revelation songs, sang in choirs, and worked as a music director. He is a full-time worshipper with three CDs to his credit. He has written numerous songs. His debut album, “Code Red,” was published in 2016 and had 14 songs. In 2019, he published another album, “Kingdom Now,” which had 20 songs. So far, he has published over thirty songs, including the hit Na You, which featured American gospel singer Kim Burrell and was played at The Experience Concert.

Tasha Cobbs, Kurt Carr, Don Moen, Byron Cage, Ty Tribbett, William Murphy, Kim Burrell, Sinach, Tasha Page-Lockhart, Frank Edwards, and Freke Umoh have all ministered with Dunsin. He was designated one of the 100 Most Influential People in Christian Ministry in Nigeria by Ynaija in 2020. Imole De was also nominated for Song of Excellence at the 2019 Africa Gospel Music and Media Awards (AGMMA).
