Dr. Ambrose Bryant Chukwuemeka Orjiako, sometimes known as ABC Orjiako, is a qualified medical doctor-turned-business magnate and billionaire with holdings in oil and gas, shipping, banking and insurance, and the pharmaceutical industry.
According to a press release issued by the Presidency in Abuja, President Muhammadu Buhari, who also serves as Nigeria’s Minister of Petroleum Resources, approved the acquisition of Exxon Mobil’s Nigerian oil assets for $1.28 billion.
The purchase was initially announced by Seplat Energy, a renowned indigenous oil exploration business listed on the Nigerian Exchange and the London Stock Exchange, in February of this year.
Exxon Mobile would get a $1.28 billion upfront payment for the purchase, as well as an extra $300 million from Seplat over a five-year period. However, additional considerations such as oil price and average output of oil assets over the time will be taken into account.
Exxon Mobil stated that the divestiture, which comprises more than 90 shallow-water oil properties and 300 producing wells, was in line with the company’s new investment strategy.

Ambrose Bryant Chukwuemeka Orjiako was born on October 2, 1960, in Calabar, Cross Rivers State, to an Igbo family of late Mr Daniel Obiesie Orjiako and late Mrs Rebecca Orjiako from Umuchima, Uli Anambra State.
